New sissy bar needs a tail light.....

Over a year ago, I bought a pair of LED lights (#1) on E-Bay for 99cents (+5.99 for shipping). I got some of this mold stuff (#2) like they use to make plaster casts of baby feet and the what have you. I made a plaster cast (#3) of the LED lens cover. If you are wondering about (#4)??? ... I keep my weed in there.
I bought an el cheapo tail light repair kit at O'Reilly's. Heated up a sheet of red plastic over the plaster cast in the oven to shape it (Natti wasn't to happy about my use of her oven).
Trimmed off the excess and glued the new lens over the LED...
and mounted it in my new sissy bar
I made a ridge on my rear fender with a piece of 1/4" tubing molded in. I ran the tail light wiring through the tube. This keeps the exposed wiring to a minimum.
Next, I need to make a tag mount that won't piss off the Po-Po. That and about 100 hours of sanding on the fender.

Bastard Bash 5 Deals Gap, N.C.

enroute to the Bastard Bash in Deals Gap, North Carolina, DJ, Rich, Samuel and Mika stop in at Dawg Haus Chops in Crossville Tennessee.
Samuel and Mika flew over from Finland for the Bash and have been touring around Ohio, Indiana, etc for the past few days. DJ flew in from Humptulip, Washington.
A bunch of Bashers took a little hiatus from tearing up the Dragon to visit the Wheels Through Time museum. Here, they are shown at their VIP parking spot!

Gary Littlejohn Prism

I went to the Nipomo swap meet on Monday hoping to find a bar-end mirror for the chopper. Instead, I found this Gary Littlejohn prism gas tank.
I need to get a petcock and some bungs so I can bolt it to the topside of my backbone.
Now I need to build a new sissy bar. This one is just too low to be useful.

Hippie Killer Hoedown 2012

My plan was to get up Friday morning, have my coffee, get the OL off to work, then head out to Bakersfield to catch up with Jeff and Pablo on their way to the Hippie Killer Hoedown. Then I would ride back home accompanying Pablo on his way back to Redwood city.

When I rolled out of bed at 5:30 the first thing I noticed was a bright flash of lightning, then the roar of thunder and the sound of substantial amounts of rain on the roof of the deck. I went to the kitchen and started making coffee...I heard a ticking sound against the window. I turned on an outside light and saw it...HAIL all over the deck. I took my coffee back to bed.

Jeff and Pablo are heartier souls than I. Things were fine when they left Redwood City, but when they got a little farther south, it turned to shit. They made the rest of the trip through torrential rain, cold and even snow.

Thank God for laundromats with dryers.
