New sissy bar needs a tail light.....

Over a year ago, I bought a pair of LED lights (#1) on E-Bay for 99cents (+5.99 for shipping). I got some of this mold stuff (#2) like they use to make plaster casts of baby feet and the what have you. I made a plaster cast (#3) of the LED lens cover. If you are wondering about (#4)??? ... I keep my weed in there.
I bought an el cheapo tail light repair kit at O'Reilly's. Heated up a sheet of red plastic over the plaster cast in the oven to shape it (Natti wasn't to happy about my use of her oven).
Trimmed off the excess and glued the new lens over the LED...
and mounted it in my new sissy bar
I made a ridge on my rear fender with a piece of 1/4" tubing molded in. I ran the tail light wiring through the tube. This keeps the exposed wiring to a minimum.
Next, I need to make a tag mount that won't piss off the Po-Po. That and about 100 hours of sanding on the fender.

  1. I'm building a sissy bar (this winter) and was wanting to think of an original idea for a tail light on it. Your light is very close to what I was thinking. Great job!
